My Story

I've been building software professionally for over 18 years, working across defense, healthcare, and finance. I've spent much of that time in startups, where I learned what it takes to build products that succeed, and actually solve real problems for real people. But the work I'm doing at Trust Recovery Apps is different. It adds a deep sense of purpose that aligns with my journey in recovery. I'm also a US Air Force veteran and previously served in Iraq.

In 2021, I found I had lost everything and my life had largely fallen apart. This is where I began my own recovery journey. That experience changed everything for me. It gave me a new perspective on what matters and a deep understanding of the challenges people face when they're trying to rebuild their lives. I am forever grateful for the people and the larger recovery community that were there to help me.

Why I Started Trust Recovery Apps

I started this company because I wanted to use the skills I've developed over nearly two decades to give back to the recovery community. I've seen firsthand how hard it is to find the right local resources, stay connected, and keep moving forward when you're in recovery. I believe technology can help—not by replacing human connection, but by making it easier to find and sustain.

My passion is creating solutions that empower individuals and organizations to make the largest possible impact. I care deeply about helping veterans and those struggling with substance use issues to come back stronger and rebuild their lives. This isn't about building a business to make myself wealthy. It's about doing my part, about using what I know to help others who are walking a path I understand.

What Drives Me

Recovery taught me that asking for help isn't weakness—it's courage. It taught me that community matters, that small steps add up, and that everyone deserves a chance to start over. Those lessons guide everything I build.

On a personal note, if you're in recovery, I want you to know: you're not alone, and there are people working every day to make your journey a little easier.
